Class Fees

Class fees will vary; please check the individual class descriptions. We offer a $25 discount for Basic Obedience and Puppy Kindergarten classes for dogs adopted from a shelter or non-profit (501c3) rescue organization if the dog was adopted within 3 months of the class start date. (This discount does not apply to special interest, specially priced or advanced classes such as Small Dog, Basic for Bullies, Intermediate, etc.)

The fee for training programs is payable in advance. Make checks payable to "BERKELEY-EAST BAY HUMANE SOCIETY". The Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society will charge a $25 service fee for any cancellations requiring a refund. After the class session begins, no refunds will be made. You may transfer to another class one time. Discounts require proof of adoption before the first class date. If we do not receive such proof, we will invoice you for any balance owed.

We also offer private consultations and evaluations in which you can meet with a certified professional at the K-9 College to have your dog's behavior evaluated or to troubleshoot behavior problems. The initial evaluation is $80 (for up to 1.5 hours) and consultations are $80 per hour (discounted for packages of 3 or 6 sessions).

Requirements for Dogs

Dogs must be at least 4 months of age at the start of the first class, unless otherwise specified, and be vaccinated for DHLPP (or equivalent) and Rabies (except puppies under 4 months of age). We recommend the Bordetella vaccine as well. Owners must submit the vaccination certification form (not original records) before or at the first class session.

We reserve the right to refuse admittance if limitations of the handler or dog impair the ability of the trainer to teach the methods employed in class. We will make reasonable accommodations to assure a successful class experience.

Please note, some classes have a "People Only" orientation or require a private evaluation with the dog before enrolling. Refer to the class descriptions for details.
