Director of Advancement

Director of Advancement Job Description

Summary: The Director of Advancement is responsible for leading BEBHS’s multi-faceted development program. BEBHS is planning a multi-million capital campaign to rebuild a state-of-the-art animal shelter after a fire badly damaged the 83-year old building in May 2010. The DOA will have principal responsibility for designing and implementing the campaign and for overseeing the annual campaign. The DOA will work with the campaign cabinet and its four work groups, the 10-member Board of Directors, senior staff, and supervises the Director of Annual Giving & Communications, Development & Communications Coordinator, and Development Assistant.

Dog Associate

Dog Associate Job Description

Summary: Dog Associates intake dogs and puppies into the adoption program at BEBHS, care for them in the shelter and arrange for their care in foster homes, monitor their health and behavior, provide training, enrichment and socialization, facilitate their adoption into permanent homes, and perform other duties related to the dog program under the direction of the Dog Coordinator.

Shelter Services Manager

Shelter Services Manager Job Description

Summary: The Shelter Services Manager is responsible for managing all shelter operations, ensuring standards of animal care are met, quality shelter services are provided, and shelter resources are leveraged appropriately. With Dog and Cat Coordinators, manages animal shelter population; monitors and measures population dynamics, ensures herd health, maintains adoption driven capacity, keeps average length of stay low, and maintains capacity. Manages daily work assignments and provides support as needed to develop shelter staff into a cohesive team.
