The City of Berkeley is an Adoption Guarantee Community and has successfully eliminated euthanasia of healthy and treatable dogs and cats. The Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society, as lead agency for the Berkeley Alliance for Homeless Animals Coalition (BAHAC), publishes yearly statistics for the coalition.
