Training Policies


Enrollment

Participants must enroll in advance and pay the class fee to reserve a space in a class. Class size is limited so please be aware that some classes may have already filled up before we receive your enrollment.

Register:

  • By Fax or Mail: Print an Enrollment Form *
  • Online: View our current class schedule and click the "Register" button next to the class of your choice to be taken to our online enrollment form. **

* If you register online, we will send you a PayPal Invoice with a link to make a payment. You can request a PayPal Invoice on faxed or mailed enrollment forms. If you prefer, you can pay by phone (510) 845-7735, x215 or by mail. Please make checks out to Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society.

** Online enrollments must arrive before the class date. Class must be paid for in full to reserve your place in class.

If you do not receive pre-class information within one week of enrollment, contact the Training Department or (510) 845-7735, x215.

Class Requirements

Dogs must be at least 4 months of age at the start of the first class, unless otherwise specified, and be vaccinated for DHLPP (or equivalent) and Rabies (except puppies under 4 months of age). In addition, we recommend the Bordatella vaccine. Owners must submit our vaccination certification form (not original records) before or at the first class session.

We reserve the right to refuse admittance if limitations of the handler or dog impair the ability of the trainer to teach the methods employed in class. We will make reasonable accommodations to assure a successful class experience.

Please note, a few of our classes have a People Only orientation or require a private evaluation with the dog before enrolling. Refer to the class descriptions for details. Bring your dog to class unless stated otherwise!

Fees

Class fees will vary, and are listed on the class schedule.

Refund Policy

The Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society will charge a $25 service fee for any cancellations requiring a refund. After the class session begins, no refunds will be made. You are allowed one transfer to another class.
