Lulu

Lulu arrived at our shelter in October with a long story. She had been rescued from a municipal shelter over a year ago by a pet store in Oakland, and when they closed, she was left there. She had treatable dental problems and nowhere to go, so we took her in. Labwork showed good internal health, so we performed a dental cleaning and extracted several chronically diseased teeth. Unfortunately, we also noticed a tiny tumor on one of her toes, and a biopsy revealed a malignancy. After having a second surgery to remove her toe, she received a clean bill of health! Lulu is waiting patiently in adoptions for someone willing to love a 7-year old sweetie with one missing toe.

Many middle-aged kitties need medical "tune-ups" before they can be adopted out, and these can cost anywhere from $300-$1500. Your donation to the Hope Shelter Medical Fund helps us give cats like Lulu a chance.

Donate online, by phone (510) 845-7735, ext. 35, or by mail to 2700 Ninth St., Berkeley, CA 94710.
